We glow when we talk about colour. Whether it is selecting paint, fabric, wallpaper, or countertops, we thrive on creating schemes that are beautifully cohesive and complimentary. Let us help you avoid pitfalls and create a palette you enjoy.

THE DESIGN PROCESS

DISCOVERY CALL

We will have a short discussion to evaluate your project needs and timeline to see if we align in terms of scope and timing. If we decide to move forward to an initial consultation, we will guide you on items that you can prepare for our first meeting, sending you a client questionnaire to get you thinking more, so that we can make the best use of our time.

INITIAL CONSULTATION

We will meet together, in person, for a longer conversation to review the specifics of your project and define the scope of work. We will take the time to learn about your specific wants and needs, identifying what is currently working for you and what would make your life easier. Measurements of all spaces included in the design project will be taken at this time.

PROPOSAL & CONTRACT

A detailed proposal will be prepared for you outlining each phase of the project with deliverables and associated fees so you can understand clearly what you are paying for. Once we are satisfied that the scope of work is clearly defined and agreed upon, we will send you a contract to sign before we enter the design phase.

CONCEPT DEVELOPMENT

This is the initial, creative phase where a project's overall vision is established, aligning goals with aesthetic and functional decisions through mood boards, color palettes, and space planning. It serves as the creative foundation for the entire project, ensuring consistency in style, materials, and a unified vision for the space before detailed design work begins. We will refer back to this throughout the entire project to make sure all of the design decisions we make align with the with the "big picture".

PROPOSAL & CONTRACT

CONCEPT DEVELOPMENT

This is the initial, creative phase where a project's overall vision is established, aligning goals with aesthetic and functional decisions. We work closely with our client to understand their desires, through conversations and questionnaires that dig deep into what a perfect home would look and feel like for THEM. The development of mood boards and sharing of images helps to create the foundation for the entire project, ensuring consistency in style, materials, and a unified vision for the space before detailed design work begins. We will refer back to this throughout the entire project to make sure all of the design decisions we make align with the with the "big picture".

SPACE PLANNING

Each space within the scope of work will be analyzed to assess its functionality and determine the strengths and limitations of each area. The goal is enhance the functionality of each area through ensuring space usage is optimized and a smooth flow is maintained. Loose sketches and plans will be presented to the client at this stage.

DESIGN DEVELOPMENT

This phase of the project is multi-faceted, with several areas being developed for presentation prior to final construction drawings:

floor plans, elevations and section/ detail drawings
millwork (cabinetry) drawings
furniture layout drawings
lighting, electrical and switching plans
material and finishes selection
fixtures selection (plumbing, lighting & appliances)
window coverings & furniture packages (if included in scope of work)

CONSTRUCTION DRAWINGS

A final drawing package will be prepared with all approved layouts and specifications, suitable for construction and trade purposes.

CONSTRUCTION SUPPORT & COORDINATION

We will work closely with your contractor and trades throughout the construction phase, with regularly scheduled site visits to ensure the project deliverables are met and to keep you informed of progress.

INSTALLATION & STYLING

Once construction is complete we will arrange the installation of all soft goods that we have procured for you, and implement any styling services we have included in your design package. These are the final details that will make your home feel complete.

Every project is unique, and some steps of the process may not align to your project.
